There’s a silence in-between John Cage's 4’33”, the thus named grand café, and the spatial foyers of the Muziekgebouw. This silence has given rise to the concert series ’Echoes of Nothing’, curated by CvA students Ramin Amin Tafreshi, Viola Blache, Lorenz Rommelspacher. Each edition is linked to a concert in the main hall of the Muziekgebouw and takes place monthly before or after this event at 4'33 or in the open space of the unique building. Upcoming and creative musicians from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam reflect here on the concert with their own artistic ideas, concepts and formats.
