About the Event
Our vibrant city of Amsterdam brought together the young musicians of the Dokwerk Saxophone Quartet. Lisa Schreiber, Jen-Hong Wu, Ileana Termini and Pedro Silva share a passion for saxophone and the language of music and founded their quartet in 2019 while studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
The fusion of their different cultures and backgrounds invites an endless wealth and variety of musical possibilities and choices. Open-minded and light-footed, they fight for a permanent place for the classical saxophone in the music of today and tomorrow!
Dokwerk Saxophone Quartet has won several international competitions in recent years, they have performed in well-known venues and are welcome guests on radio and TV shows.
The joy, energy, humor and fervor they exude while playing will leave no listener indifferent. Be surprised and enchanted by the sounds of these four beautiful instruments. The program features contemporary composers, interspersed with more well-known classics and arrangements.
