Grachten Festival - Maat Saxophone Quartet
Time & Location
About the Event
A concert full of energy and colour! In this festive program, the Maat Saxophone Quartet plays original compositions as well as transcriptions. The first half of the concert consists of works by Rivier, Bozza and Glazounov, among others, composers who wrote the very first works for saxophone quartet, and a new work by the young Iranian composer Ramin Amin Tafreshi. Maat continues the concert with adventurous transcriptions of piano works and even an opera overture. Think of composers such as Albeniz, Suppe and Debussy. Two worlds come together in the playing of the four young musicians of the Maat Saxophone Quartet.
