Joost Willemze at Huize Gaudeamus

RHAPSODOS offers an alternative to the traditional harp recital. Joost will perform pieces from his new CD, released on March 13th. The program emphasizes drama and storytelling. Ancient myths, contemporary compositions, and established repertoire are combined into a clearly structured concert. Above all, it presents the harp as a narrative instrument.

The program reflects Joost's long-standing interest in myths and stories, fueled by his background as a harpist and classicist. Joost has won first prizes at the Princess Christina Competition, the International Harp Competition in Porto, and the Italian Suoni d'Arpa, and has also received distinction at international competitions in Seoul, Munich, Bloomington, and New York, among others. In 2023, he received the Dutch Classical Talent Award for his program Orpheus, with which he toured the leading Dutch concert halls.
