About the Event
Ramon van Engelenhoven was born in Medembliker and has been among the absolute top pianists in the Netherlands and abroad for several years now.
In 2019 he completed his master's degree in Piano at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with a 10, where he studied with Frank Peters. From a young age he won prizes at various competitions, including first prize at the International Steinway Piano Competition (2012) and first prize at the Princess Christina Competition (2013). In 2015 he won the Grand Finale of the Young Pianist Foundation Competition.
Ramon can be heard regularly on Dutch concert stages, including Tivoli Vredenburg and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. He is also often a guest on various radio programs on Radio 4 and in the TV program Podium Klassiek. As a soloist he has performed with orchestras such as the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, the Real Filharmonía de Galicia, Phion and the North Netherlands Orchestra. He gave performances abroad in Hamburg, Rome, Porto Ercole (a concert at Princess Christina's home), Athens, Istanbul, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Calgary and Vancouver.
In any case, our program includes Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin and also music by Maurice Ravel and John Williams, the composer of film scores such as Schindler's List and Indiana Jones and "Prelude for Piano" by Ramin Amin Tafreshi.
