The Dokwerk Saxophone Quartet receives the Wildcard from Festival Klassiek achter de Duinen this year. In this program, the four saxophonists seek a moment of calm and focus. Music by Mozart, Mendelssohn, Cage, Widmann, Amin Tafreshi, David Dramm, and Philip Glass forms a journey through various sound worlds.

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, we are constantly preoccupied with external matters, with expectations and the noise of the world. But within each of us lies an island, a quiet place where time slows down and where you can simply be, according to the four musicians. An island that can stir up fear, but is also a source of connection with everything and everyone.
