About the Event
This year, Nesko wants to promote diversity and inclusivity. She does this by being the first student orchestra in the Netherlands to perform the music of Louise Farrenc. Strength is the central theme in this program. On the one hand, the power of women who, despite unequal treatment and criticism from society, decided that they wanted to compose and made history with it. And on the other hand, the strength of all the people who decided to follow their hearts, such as Ralph Vaughan Williams. But the power of nature also plays a role, Mendelssohn described this in Die Hebrides. Finally, Nesko promotes diversity through the collaboration with Ramin Amin Tafreshi, who in turn connects Iranian with Dutch culture and emphasizes the strength of women. The Russian-Norwegian soprano Elizaveta Agrafenina will be the soloist in this work.
